Prospect, OR – Two people were killed Thursday night after their disabled vehicle was struck by another vehicle in Prospect, according to the authorities.

The fatal collision happened around 10:04 p.m. on July 31 on Mill Creek Road.

Authorities said Arthur Rowden, 67, and Gary Tate, 51, both of Prospect, were outside of a 1987 Toyota pickup, which was disabled and had its lights off in the eastbound lane. A 2002 Chevy Trailblazer driven by an 18-year-old Prospect resident then struck the disabled pickup.

Rowden and Tate were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Chevy driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

Speed or impairment were not a factor in the accident.

The collision remains under investigation.
