Police said Drake attempted to pull over his black 2005 Cadillac and it was partially stopped in the right lane due to the lack of an emergency shoulder. The crash scene had a multi-lane shift for construction.

Lake County, IN. – 58-year-old Anthony Drake of Gary was killed after a multi-vehicle accident on Saturday night in Lake County, according to the Indiana State Police.
The deadly collision happened at around 11:57 p.m. July 26, on southbound I-65 at mile marker 254, about 1 mile north of U.S. 30.
Police said Drake attempted to pull over his black 2005 Cadillac and it was partially stopped in the right lane due to the lack of an emergency shoulder. The crash scene had a multi-lane shift for construction.
Drake tried to put gas into their vehicle when a passing Ford Flex struck him. The Ford Flex then slammed into a concrete barrier wall and caused another collision involving a northbound car.
Drake was declared dead at the crash site.
The other drivers involved sustained non-life threatening injuries were taken to local hospitals for treatment.
