Chicago, IL. – 34-year-old Alexander Smith, of Evanston was killed following a traffic collision early Thursday in Chicago, according to Illinois State Police.

The deadly accident occurred at about 1:00 a.m. July 10 on northbound I-94 at the Chinatown Feeder near Cermak.

Police said a single vehicle crashed in the area in unclear circumstances.

Smith was declared dead at the crash scene.

Authorities closed all northbound and southbound lanes near Cermak following the collision. The roadway has since reopened.
