Albany, OR. – A 16-year-old girl was killed Friday night in a pedestrian accident in Albany, according to the police.
The deadly accident happened around 10:08 p.m. on January 16 on SE 19th Avenue near SE Tudor Way.
Police said the girl and her sibling were pushing a rolling tool chest in the roadway when a white 2005 Nissan Altima driven by their older sister hit the toolbox and the girl.
Their sister was following them with the vehicle at a slow walking speed.
The girl, who was a student at Albany Options School, was taken to Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center, where she later died.
Impairment was not a factor in the accident.
The Albany Police Department is investigating the accident.
