Lakewood Ranch, FL. – Eight people were injured in a fiery crash involving a school bus in Bradenton on Saturday night.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8:20 p.m. on State Road 70.

Three school buses from Fort Pierce Central High School, carrying 90 students and six adults, were stopped on the eastbound outside lane of the road when a Ford Expedition slammed into the back of the last bus, resulting in a chain reaction crash. The students were returning from a band competition.

The Ford caught fire after the collision.

The 32-year-old Tampa woman driving the Ford sustained minor injuries. Her two-year-old passenger was critically injured and was airlifted to the hospital.
