69-Year-Old Bicyclist Killed in Crash at U.S. 41 and Peters Avenue in East Naples

According to the FHP officials, a 69-year-old driver, also a Naples man, was driving a pick-up and was traveling south on Airport-Pulling Road. At the same time the bicyclist was driving towards the intersection of U.S. 41 in the area of crosswalk, and he tried to cross Peters Avenue and was struck by the front of the pickup.

East Naples, FL. – The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating a bicycle accident that killed a 69-year-old Naples man on Wednesday morning in East Naples.

The deadly collision occurred at 11:00 a.m. on November 26, at U.S. 41 and Peters Avenue.

According to the FHP officials, a 69-year-old driver, also a Naples man, was driving a pick-up and was traveling south on Airport-Pulling Road. At the same time the bicyclist was driving towards the intersection of U.S. 41 in the area of crosswalk, and he tried to cross Peters Avenue and was struck by the front of the pickup.

The bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time.

The male cyclist was declared dead at the crash site.

The pickup driver was wearing a seatbelt and was not hurt in the accident
