St. Lucie County, FL. – Four persons were injured after a multi-vehicle accident on Sunday night in St. Lucie County, according to the St. Lucie County Fire District.

The accident occurred at about 10:58 p.m. on January 25, on Florida’s Turnpike near the 150-mile marker southbound between Fort Pierce and Port St. Lucie.

Officials said three vehicles crashed in unclear circumstances. Two of the vehicles were heavily damaged while one rolled over following the crash.

Responding firefighters extricated two individuals pinned inside a vehicle.

Four patients were evaluated. Three were listed as trauma alerts.

One was flown to a local trauma center by St. Lucie County Air Rescue, while two others were transported by ground ambulance.

The fourth patient declined transport.

No additional information regarding this crash was provided.

An investigation by the Florida Highway Patrol is underway.
