Washington Park, IL. – Two workers were injured early Wednesday morning in a wrong-way accident in Washington Park, according to the Illinois State Police.
The accident occurred around 2:00 a.m. on July 9, on Interstate 64, east of Route 111.
Police said a wrong-way driver crashed into an IDOT construction truck in an area that was undergoing overnight construction.
A construction worker was injured in the accident and was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Another worker was also taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The wrong-way driver was taken into custody and refused medical treatment.
Illinois State Police are investigating the accident.
