2 Injured in Semi-Truck Crash on I-75 near Exit 352 in Ocala

Police said a semi-truck was ferrying corn and was traveling southbound on I-75 when its tire blew out, the truck struck the guardrail and began to roll over, crashing into a second truck in the northbound lanes.

Ocala, FL. – Two people were hospitalized following a multi-vehicle collision on Wednesday afternoon in Ocala, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred at around 3:50 p.m. August 13, on southbound Interstate 75, just north of Exit 352, which is the State Road 40 interchange.

Police said a semi-truck was ferrying corn and was traveling southbound on I-75 when its tire blew out, the truck struck the guardrail and began to roll over, crashing into a second truck in the northbound lanes.

A third truck was rear-ended by a fourth truck, also in the northbound lanes. A Honda Civic was also involved in the crash.

A man and a woman riding in the Honda sustained severe injuries and were transported to the hospital following the collision.

All lanes were cleared as of 7:55 p.m. but the northbound entrance ramp at SR 40 remained closed.

An investigation is underway.
