Timber, OR. – At least one person was killed in a car accident that left five people injured near Timber on Saturday evening.

According to Oregon State Police, the accident happened on Highway 26 near milepost 31 at around 6 p.m.

Two vehicles rolled down an embankment after the collision. A vehicle rolled down a 60-foot embankment and firefighters had to use ropes to rescue the vehicle.

One person was killed in the accident.

Two were transported by Life Flight Network helicopters to area trauma centers.

Three other patients were taken to hospital by ground ambulances.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
