Evergreen Park, IL. – One person was killed after a traffic collision involving a stolen vehicle on Tuesday morning in Evergreen Park near Evergreen Plaza shopping center.

The accident happened a while before 11:20 a.m. 

Police said the stolen vehicle crashed into another car. The stolen vehicle was fleeing away from police at a high rate of speed.

The male driver of the stolen vehicle was transported to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was declared dead.

The driver of the vehicle that was hit was taken to OSF Little Company of Mary Medical Center in Evergreen Park for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

The woman who was with the man driving the stolen vehicle was arrested at the gas station and will be charged with criminal trespass.

Police blocked all lanes for several hours as they conducted an investigation.
