Tucson, Arizona – One person was killed and two others were injured on Monday in a head-on collision in Tucson, according to the Tucson Police Department.

The deadly collision happened on May 19, on South Country Club Road near East Camino Campestre.

Police said a Nissan Versa was traveling northbound on Country Club Road while a Kia Sorento was traveling southbound.

The Versa crossed the double-yellow line, into the southbound lane and crashed head-on into the Sorento.

The Versa driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released and the investigators were looking for their next of kin.

Two of the three occupants of the Sorento were taken to a local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the accident.
