1 Injured in 5-Vehicle Accident on Florida’s Turnpike near Mile Marker 257 in Orlando

Troopers said a 2017 BMW X6 and a 2021 semi crashed. The BMW was disabled in the roadway and was hit from behind by a 2007 semi and a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The semi then jackknifed and was disabled in the inside lane.

Orlando, FL. – One person was injured following a multi-vehicle accident early Friday morning in Orange County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred a while after 2:30 a.m. on December 5, on the southbound lanes of the Florida’s Turnpike near mile marker 257.

Troopers said a 2017 BMW X6 and a 2021 semi crashed. The BMW was disabled in the roadway and was hit from behind by a 2007 semi and a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. The semi then jackknifed and was disabled in the inside lane.

Following the impact of the collision, the BMW rotated and crashed into a 2026 semi that was stopped because of the collisions ahead.

The driver of the 2007 semi-truck, a 51-year-old from Lake City, sustained minor injuries and was transported to the hospital for treatment. The other drivers were not hurt in the accident.

An investigation is ongoing.
