Las Vegas, NV. – A pedestrian was critically injured after being struck by a car on Sunday in Las Vegas.

According to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, the accident happened around 10:49 p.m. near Flamingo and Mojave roads.

A pedestrian was crossing the road and was hit by an eastbound BMW driven by a 30-year-old man.

The pedestrian was seriously injured and was taken to Sunrise Hospital where he remains in critical condition.

The driver of the BMW fled the scene but eventually returned to the scene where he was taken into custody. He was booked into the Clark County Detention Center for hit-and-run charges.

More details about the accident were not released.
