Josephine County, OR – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle in Josephine County on Tuesday morning, according to the Oregon State Police.

The incident took place on Highway 199, near milepost 26 at about 5:40 a.m. April 22.

According to the OSP, a 31-year-old man was trying to walk across the roadway when he was hit by a southbound Ford Escape.

The victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver was unhurt and stayed at the scene.

An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
