
Lordsburg, NM – Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle collision near Lordsburg on Thursday morning, according to the New Mexico State Police.
The incident happened on Interstate 10 at about 8 a.m. March 6.
Authorities reported that eleven vehicles were involved in the pileup, which is believed to have been caused by the lack of visibility due to heavy dust.
Three of the parties involved in the incident died in the collision.
The victims were identified as Douan Fernandez, 52, and Alexander Acosta, 37, both from Florida, and Joseph Malley, 45, of Lordsburg.
Both directions of I-10 were shut down as authorities worked to clear the scene.
The investigation is ongoing.
