The man driving the Palisade was taken to Advocate Christ in fair condition
Chicago, IL. – Two people were killed in a collision that left multiple others injured near Midway Airport in Chicago early Thursday morning.
According to Chicago police, the accident happened at 5600 West 55th Street at around 3:30 a.m.
28-year-old Edgar Santana, of Chicago, was driving a Ford Fusion eastbound on West 55th Street when he made and was hit by a Hyundai Palisade driven by a 29-year-old man.
Edgar was transported to Stroger Hospital where he died while receiving treatment.
31-year-old Rocio Sanchez, of Chicago, was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn where she later died.
The man driving the Palisade was taken to Advocate Christ in fair condition.
Three passengers in the Palisade were also taken to hospital.
More details about the collision were not released.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
