Fort Wayne, IN. – Donald Okeefe Green died in a pedestrian accident that happened on Monday in Fort Wayne.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened around 8:10 p.m. near the intersection of S. Anthony Boulevard and Lafayette Street, according to the Fort Wayne Police Department.

Green was crossing the northbound lanes of S. Lafayette Street when he was hit by a car.

The 69-year-old Fort Wayne man was taken to an area hospital, where he later died, according to the Allen County Coroner’s Office.

The driver remained at the scene and provided medical attention to the pedestrian until paramedics arrived.

Alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors in the crash for the driver.

More details about the accident were not released.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
