According to the police, David Allen Smith, 57, was riding a bike across Van Buren Street mid-block when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east.
Phoenix, AZ – A bicyclist was hit and killed by a vehicle in Phoenix on Tuesday night, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The wreck took place near 19th Avenue and Van Buren Street at about 9 p.m. on February 11.
According to the police, David Allen Smith, 57, was riding a bike across Van Buren Street mid-block when he was hit by a vehicle traveling east.
Smith was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver of the vehicle stayed at the scene and was suspected of DUI.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
