The deadly crash occurred around 7:52 a.m. on May 13 on State Road 44 at Shell Road.

DeLand, FL – A driver was killed and two other people were injured Tuesday morning following crash involving two pickup trucks on State Road 44 in DeLand, according to the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP).
The deadly crash occurred around 7:52 a.m. on May 13 on State Road 44 at Shell Road.
FHP said a 2018 Toyota Tacoma was heading southbound on Shell Road, approaching a stop sign at the intersection. At the same time, a 2023 RAM 2500 was westbound on SR-44 approaching the intersection.
The driver of the Toyota disregarded the stop sign and began turning left to head eastbound onto S.R. 44, coming directly into path of the Ram, and the two pickup trucks collided.
The driver of the Toyota, identified as the CEO of Skydive DeLand, 74-year-old Bob Hallett died at the crash scene.
The driver of the RAM and a passenger were sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The two patients, identified only as 46-year-old man and a 51-year-old woman respectively, were taken to AdventHealth DeLand.
SR-44 at Shell Road was shut down in both directions as crews worked at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
