Palmetto Bay, FL – A bicyclist was struck and killed by a vehicle in Palmetto Bay on Wednesday morning, the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office reported.
The accident took place on Southwest 160th Street near 81st Avenue at about 4:45 a.m. February 19.
According to the report, a man was riding a bicycle northbound on Southwest 160th Street when a vehicle hit him.
The rider, who was not immediately identified, died in the accident.
The driver was unhurt and remained at the scene.
The collision led to the closure of Southwest 160th Street as authorities investigated the incident.
The investigation is ongoing.
