Police said a black Volkswagen operated by a 19-year-old man was heading east on Washington Street when it hit a blue Toyota SUV operated by an 86-year-old woman. The Toyota was heading west on Washington and was trying to turn south onto Atkinson Road when the crash happened.
Grayslake, IL. – A man was killed, a woman was hurt following a traffic collision on Monday afternoon in Grayslake, according to the Grayslake Police Department.
The accident happened a while before 2:15 p.m. on February 2, on Washington Street and Atkinson Road.
Police said a black Volkswagen operated by a 19-year-old man was heading east on Washington Street when it hit a blue Toyota SUV operated by an 86-year-old woman. The Toyota was heading west on Washington and was trying to turn south onto Atkinson Road when the crash happened.
Following the crash, the Volkswagen swerved off the roadway and struck a traffic light pole.
The man was transported to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville where he died. The woman was hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
