Tavares, FL. – A motorcyclist and his passenger were seriously injured in a collision that happened on Friday morning in Tavares.
The crash occurred around 9:30 a.m. on State Road 19 at Dead River Road, according to the Tavares Police Department.
A 74-year-old Leesburg man was riding a 2003 Harley-Davidson motorcycle southbound on SR 19 when he slammed into the rear of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado at the intersection.
The Leesburg man, and his passenger, an 82-year-old woman, were ejected from the bike and were airlifted to area hospitals with life-threatening injuries.
The condition of the Chevy driver was not disclosed.
More details about the accident were not released.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
