The car drifted across a grass center median and collided head-on with an oncoming Tesla Model 3
Pasco County, FL. – A driver was killed in a head-on collision on Monday morning in Pasco County.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 8 a.m. on State Road 54 near Heron Cove Drive.
A 19-year-old woman was driving a car westbound on the highway when she lost control while negotiating a curve.
The car drifted across a grass center median and collided head-on with an oncoming Tesla Model 3 driven by a 42-year-old Palm Harbor man.
Both vehicles came to a stop in the eastbound travel lanes, where one of the cars burst into flames after the collision.
The Tesla driver was transported to a local hospital, where he later died.
The woman was also hospitalized with serious injuries.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
