Citrus County, FL – A teen was killed in a collision that occurred in Citrus County on Wednesday night, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

According to the report, a 41-year-old man from Inverness was driving a Toyota Rav 4 west on Stage Coach Trail when he drifted off the south shoulder of the roadway at a curve.
The driver then overcorrected and moved into the path of oncoming traffic, colliding nearly head-on with a Honda Civic.
The driver of the Civic, a 17-year-old from Lacento, was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.
A passenger in the Civic, an 18-year-old woman from Citrus Springs, died in the accident.
The driver of the RAV-4 was treated for minor injuries.
An investigation into the collision is ongoing.
