Pro football stadiums can be pretty rowdy places before, during and after games. Football fans are full of alcohol, adrenaline and excitement. Though this temperament certainly makes for a wild football atmosphere, it also creates the potential for injuries. If you receive an injury at the University of Phoenix Stadium or any other sports stadium in the Phoenix area, there is a good chance another person or institution is partially or fully responsible for your pain and suffering. Reach out to our Glendale personal injury attorney following your injury.
Be Aware of Your Surroundings
The Arizona Cardinals still have a few home games left in the 2017-2018 season:
- Los Angeles Rams-December 3
- Tennessee Titans-December 10
- New York Giants-December 24
While attending one of these games it’s important to always be aware of your surroundings. Though NFL stadiums are enormous, they can become somewhat cramped when you fit 60,000 fans inside.
At any Cardinals game you will be in close proximity to other fans while seated, waiting in line for the restrooms, standing in line for snacks and while entering/exiting the stadium. In these heavily crowded areas is it important to be careful when walking through the stadium to avoid a slip and fall from a dropped beverage and while driving and walking in and out of the parking lot to avoid a car accident or pedestrian injury.
Mind Your Gear
There is a strict policy pertaining to the types of bags and other items fans can bring to a Cardinals game. Your bag, container or package must be clear plastic, PVC or vinyl and no larger than 12” by 6” by 12”. You can bring small clutch bags that are 4.5” by 6.5” or smaller into the stadium. The exception to the rule are carrying cases for medically necessary items.
Items to leave at home include:
- Purses larger than a clutch bag;
- Briefcases;
- Backpacks;
- Coolers;
- Fanny packs; or,
- Computer bags.
The Parking Lot can be Just as Dangerous as the Stadium
Football fans should understand they are just as likely to be injured in a stadium parking lot as they are inside of the actual stadium. Just spend a few hours tailgating in the University of Phoenix Stadium parking lot pre-game and you will find it has its fair share of potential dangers. People are throwing footballs, barbecuing, drinking alcohol, roughhousing and partaking in other activities that can result in accidents and injuries.
Take Advantage of On-site Security Services
If you ever feel as though you are in danger, seek assistance from a stadium security guard. The University of Phoenix Stadium has implemented a S.A.F.E. Program to keep fans and the stadium itself safe. The program was established a decade ago to implement and maintain compliance with the best practices for NFL stadium security. This group provides event security, guest services and general management services at University of Phoenix Stadium. S.A.F.E. employees are available to help you avoid conflicts with others, enjoy the game and ultimately enjoy a fun football experience.
