Police said the woman was in a truck and had stopped in a paved median, with a yield sign on U.S. Highway 29 and was preparing to turn onto Chance Road.

Escambia County, FL. – According to the Florida Highway Patrol, an 87-year-old Cantonment woman was hurt following a traffic collision on Sunday morning in Escambia County.
The crash occurred at around 5:20 p.m. on Sunday, June 1, on U.S. Highway 29 and Chance Road.
Police said the woman was in a truck and had stopped in a paved median, with a yield sign on U.S. Highway 29 and was preparing to turn onto Chance Road.
At the same time, an SUV operated by a 64-year-old man from Cookeville, Tennessee, was heading south on the U.S. Highway 29. The woman then pulled directly in front of him and the SUV crashed into the truck which spun clockwise and turned on its right side.
The woman sustained severe injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
The SUV driver and a passenger sustained minor injuries and were treated at the crash site.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
