Albuquerque, N.M. – A woman was killed in a deadly traffic collision involving a moped on Casa Verde in Albuquerque Monday evening, according to Albuquerque PD.
The accident happened on Casa Verde Drive NW at Ladera Drive NW in northwest Albuquerque on June 9.
A preliminary investigation revealed that a vehicle was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of Casa Verde Drive NW and Ladera Drive NW.
After some time, the driver began to turn left on Ladera Drive and the vehicle was by a speeding moped.
Albuquerque police said the female moped driver was thrown from the vehicle. The Adult woman suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said the woman was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Ladera Drive NW was shut down in both directions between Unser Boulevard and Parkway Drive NW during the investigation.
The crash remains under investigation.
