Police Officer Hurt in E-Bike Accident at Clematis Street and Olive Avenue in West Palm Beach

Authorities said a West Palm Beach police officer was injured after a vehicle struck the officer’s marked police e bike Thursday morning in downtown West Palm Beach.

West Palm Beach, FL.- A police officer was injured following an accident involving a vehicle and a police e bike Thursday morning in downtown West Palm Beach.

The accident occurred on September 3 near the intersection of Clematis Street and Olive Avenue.

Authorities said the officer was riding a marked police e bike westbound on Clematis Street when the collision occurred.

At the same time, another vehicle was attempting to turn northbound onto Olive Avenue.

According to the preliminary investigation, the driver failed to yield while making the turn and struck the officer’s e bike.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and provided medical assistance to the injured officer.

The officer suffered minor injuries and was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center for treatment.

No other injuries were reported in connection with the collision.

Authorities have not released additional information about the driver or whether any citations were issued.

The accident remains under investigation.
