Tucson, TX – A bicyclist, identified as 44-year-old Troy Michael Helmick, was killed after being hit by a vehicle on Interstate 10 in Tucson on Saturday, May 10, according to the Tucson Police Department.

TPD said the deadly incident happened at the intersection of 6th Avenue and westbound I-10 Frontage Road.

According to TPD, Troy Helmick failed to stop at a red light at the intersection and was hit by a Hyundai Accent.

Helmick was transported to the hospital where he died.

No one in the Hyundai was hurt. The driver of the Hyundai remained at the and police said they were not impaired.
