Authorities said multiple people were injured after a seaplane carrying 11 people crashed into the water near Sucia Island Friday evening.
Sucia Island, WA.- Multiple people were injured following an aircraft accident Friday evening near Sucia Island, according to the Federal Aviation Administration and local authorities.
The accident occurred around 5:20 p.m. on July 24 in the waters off the coast of Sucia Island.
Officials said a DeHavilland DHC-3 seaplane crashed into the water with 11 people aboard.
Authorities reported that at least one person suffered critical injuries, while several others were injured.
The San Juan County Sheriff’s Office said everyone aboard the aircraft was rescued from the water.
Additional information regarding the injured passengers and the circumstances leading up to the crash has not been released.
The accident remains under investigation.
