Authorities said one driver was killed and another was seriously injured following a three vehicle accident Tuesday morning on U.S. Route 30 in Stark County.
Stark County, OH.- One person was killed and another was seriously injured following a multi vehicle accident Tuesday morning in Stark County.
The accident occurred shortly before 9 a.m. on July 14 on U.S. Route 30 West.
According to a preliminary investigation, a sedan was traveling east in the westbound lanes when it collided head on with an SUV. The SUV then left the roadway and entered the median.
The sedan continued forward and struck a westbound van.
The driver of the sedan, identified as 79 year old Webster Blankenship of Wooster, was transported to a local hospital with life threatening injuries and later died.
The 27 year old driver of the SUV was hospitalized with serious but non life threatening injuries.
The driver of the van, a 59 year old man, was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
