Motorcyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident at Sixth Avenue and Nickerson Street in Seattle

Police said a 30 year old motorcyclist was killed after being struck by a car Wednesday morning at Sixth Avenue West and West Nickerson Street in Seattle.

Seattle, WA.- A 30 year old man was killed following a motorcycle hit and run accident Wednesday morning in Seattle.

The accident occurred around 11:23 a.m. on August 26 at the intersection of Sixth Avenue West and West Nickerson Street.

A witness called 911 to report the collision. Around the same time, a Seattle Fire Department engine was passing through the area when a group of people flagged down the crew and alerted firefighters to the injured motorcyclist.

Emergency personnel provided medical assistance to the rider before transporting him to Harborview Medical Center.

The 30 year old motorcyclist later died from his injuries at the hospital.

Seattle police responded to the intersection to investigate the collision, but authorities said the driver of the car had already left the scene.

Police have not released additional information about the vehicle or driver involved in the fatal hit and run.

Detectives with the Traffic Collision Investigation Squad are handling the investigation and are seeking information or video footage that could help identify the driver.

The accident remains under investigation.
