Sisters, OR – The authorities have released new details regarding a deadly single-vehicle accident that happened on Highway 20 in Sisters Monday morning.
Oregon State Police identified the person killed in the crash as Randolf Lee Burghart, 63, of St. Helens.
According to OSP, the fatal accident occurred just before 9 a.m. Monday, June 30 on Highway 20 near milepost 95.
Investigators said Randolf Burghart was driving a blue Subaru Outback eastbound on Hwy. 20 when, for some reason, the vehicle left the roadway and struck a guardrail.
The impact caused Subaru to bounce off, crossing into the westbound lane before it crashed into a tree.
Burghart, who was the only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident remains under investigation.
