Woman Critically Hurt in E-Bike Accident at Crosstown Parkway and Sandia Drive in Port St. Lucie

Police said a 33 year old woman suffered serious injuries after being struck by a vehicle while riding an electric assisted bicycle Tuesday morning at SE Crosstown Parkway and SE Sandia Drive in Port St. Lucie.

Port St. Lucie, FL.- A 33 year old woman was critically injured following an accident involving a vehicle and an electric assisted bicycle Tuesday morning in Port St. Lucie.

The accident occurred at approximately 4:20 a.m. on August 18 at the intersection of SE Crosstown Parkway and SE Sandia Drive.

Police said a 48 year old woman was driving a Dodge Challenger southbound on SE Crosstown Parkway when the collision occurred.

Investigators determined the 33 year old woman was riding an electric assisted bicycle southbound across SE Crosstown Parkway at SE Sandia Drive when she was struck by the Dodge Challenger.

The bicyclist suffered serious bodily injuries in the collision.

Emergency crews transported the injured woman to HCA Florida Lawnwood Hospital for treatment, where she remained in critical condition.

The driver of the Dodge Challenger remained at the scene following the accident and cooperated with investigators.

Police said no fault had been established as investigators continued examining the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The accident remains under investigation.
