Port Orford, OR. – One person was killed in a crash involving a converted school bus on Friday morning in Port Orford.

According to the Oregon State Police, the accident happened on Highway 101 near milepost 312 at around 8:20 a.m.

A black Chrysler Pacifica driven by an 18-year-old from Covington was traveling northbound on Highway 101 when it crossed the center line into the southbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming school bus converted into a motorhome.

Paramedics pronounced the driver of the Chrysler Pacifica dead at the scene.

An 18-year-old passenger of the Chrysler was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Two other passengers in the Chrysler sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
