Police said a man suffered life threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle in a hit and run accident Sunday night near the intersection of 24th Street and Pinchot Avenue in Phoenix.
Phoenix, AZ.- A pedestrian was seriously injured following a hit and run accident Sunday night in Phoenix.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on August 2 near the intersection of 24th Street and Pinchot Avenue.
Emergency crews responded after receiving reports of a pedestrian involved collision and found a man with life threatening injuries.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Authorities said the driver fled the scene after the collision.
Police later identified the driver as Brenda Barraza, who returned to the scene on foot about 20 minutes later.
Investigators said Barraza showed signs of impairment and was arrested on charges related to leaving the scene of a collision and driving under the influence.
The accident remains under investigation.
