Authorities said one man was killed and a woman was critically injured following a motorcycle accident early Saturday morning near 51st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road in Phoenix.
Phoenix, AZ.- One man was killed and a woman was critically injured following an accident involving a motorcycle and a car Saturday morning in Phoenix.
The accident occurred at approximately 1:43 a.m. on August 15 near 51st Avenue and Lower Buckeye Road.
Authorities said the collision involved a motorcycle and a passenger vehicle.
The motorcycle driver, identified as 35 year old Leon Jimenez, was found unresponsive following the collision. Jimenez later died from his injuries.
An adult woman who was riding as a passenger on the motorcycle suffered life threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
Another man involved in the accident was evaluated following the collision but declined transportation to a hospital.
According to preliminary information, the motorcycle was making a left turn when it struck the side of the other vehicle.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding the critically injured woman’s condition or the other people involved.
The accident remains under investigation as authorities continue reviewing the circumstances leading up to the collision.
