Police said one person suffered critical injuries following an accident involving a Jeep and a Tesla sedan early Thursday morning at 43rd Avenue and Rose Lane in Phoenix.
Phoenix, AZ.- One person was critically injured following a two vehicle accident Thursday morning in Phoenix.
The accident occurred around 3:10 a.m. on July 23 at the intersection of 43rd Avenue and Rose Lane.
Phoenix police and fire crews responded after receiving reports of a vehicle collision.
Responding officers found a severely damaged Jeep after it was struck by a Tesla sedan.
The driver of the Jeep was ejected from the vehicle and transported to a local trauma center in extremely critical condition.
Authorities said an adult woman believed to have been driving the Tesla was evaluated at the scene but refused hospital treatment.
Following a series of field sobriety tests, she was taken into custody.
The Phoenix Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Unit is investigating the collision.
43rd Avenue was closed for several hours while investigators processed the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
