Authorities said one person suffered critical injuries following a two vehicle accident early Thursday morning near North Central Street and East McClure Avenue in Peoria.
Peoria, IL.- One person was critically injured and two others were hurt following a two vehicle accident Thursday morning in Peoria.
The accident occurred at approximately 1:22 a.m. on July 23 near North Central Street and East McClure Avenue on Peoria’s East Bluff.
Emergency crews arrived to find both vehicles with major damage. A passenger had already been removed from one of the vehicles before first responders arrived.
The passenger had no pulse and received CPR before being transported to a local trauma center.
Two other people were also taken to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Investigators said one vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed on McClure Avenue before striking the passenger side of another vehicle.
Authorities said the driver of the speeding vehicle fled the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
