Authorities said a 70 year old woman died following a fire Sunday morning on the 11th floor of the B’nai B’rith Apartments in Peoria.
Peoria, IL.- A 70 year old woman died following a high rise apartment fire Sunday morning in Peoria.
The fire occurred on September 6 at the B’nai B’rith Apartments on West Sam J. Stone Avenue.
Emergency crews received the call at approximately 6:10 a.m. and responded to a fire on the 11th floor of the apartment building.
The 70 year old woman was transported to OSF HealthCare St. Francis Medical Center following the fire.
Authorities said the woman was unresponsive, not breathing, and had no pulse when she arrived at the hospital.
She was pronounced dead at the hospital at approximately 6:59 p.m.
The coroner said an autopsy was scheduled for Monday to help determine the woman’s cause of death.
At least one other person was transported to a hospital following the fire.
Authorities have not released additional information regarding that person’s injuries or condition.
