Fort Lauderdale, FL. – A pedestrian in a wheelchair was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Saturday night, according to Fort Lauderdale Police.

The accident happened on June 28, at the Northwest 11th Avenue and West Broward Boulevard intersection.

Police said a black car hit the pedestrian in a wheelchair for reasons still under investigation. The driver fled the scene on West Broward Boulevard.

It was not immediately known if the pedestrian was hospitalized.

An investigation into the hit-and-run accident is ongoing.
