Tucson, AZ.- A driver was arrested after a hit-and-run collision that left a pedestrian dead in Tucson on Sunday night, according to a report by the Pima County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident took place in the area of West Valencia Road and South Ignacio M. Baumea at about 10:30 p.m. on May 25.

According to the report, a pedestrian walking along West Valencia Road was hit by a 2010 Ford Focus and possibly a second vehicle.

None of the drivers remained at the scene after the accident.

The unnamed pedestrian died at the scene of the collision.

The driver of the Ford, Martin Lopez, 48, later contacted the authorities.

He was arrested and booked into the Pima County Adult Detention Complex on suspicion of DUI and failure to stop and render aid.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
