Authorities said two people were killed after a small plane crashed Monday near an orchard on Trout Creek Ridge Road in Parkdale.
Parkdale, OR.- Two people were killed following a small plane crash Monday in Hood River County, according to the Hood River County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash occurred on August 31 near Trout Creek Ridge Road in the Parkdale area.
The Hood River County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a possible plane crash around 11:31 a.m. near Old Parkdale Road.
Deputies began searching the upper Hood River Valley with assistance from the sheriff’s office aircraft and personnel from the Parkdale Fire Department.
Authorities located the crash site at approximately 12:32 p.m. near an orchard on Trout Creek Ridge Road.
The aircraft was identified as a single engine plane with two people aboard.
Both occupants suffered fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities identified the victims as James Crain and Scott Perry, both of Hood River.
The aircraft was secured at the scene following the crash.
Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board were expected to examine the wreckage and investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The cause of the crash has not been released.
