Police said a 3 year old boy and a man were critically injured after being struck by a vehicle Saturday night while crossing East Craig Road near Puebla Street in North Las Vegas.
North Las Vegas, NV.- A 3 year old boy and an adult man were critically injured following a pedestrian accident Saturday night on East Craig Road.
The accident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. on September 6 near East Craig Road and Puebla Street, close to Lamb Boulevard.
According to authorities, the pedestrians were attempting to cross East Craig Road outside of a marked or implied crosswalk.
Police said a Mitsubishi Outlander was traveling west on Craig Road with a driver and two passengers inside.
The adult man was reportedly carrying the 3 year old boy when he stepped from a concrete median and entered the path of the approaching Mitsubishi.
The vehicle struck the man and child.
A 22 year old woman was also attempting to cross the roadway but was not struck.
The Mitsubishi driver stopped following the collision and got out of the vehicle to provide assistance.
Emergency medical crews transported the man and child to University Medical Center, where both remained in critical condition.
Authorities said the three men inside the Mitsubishi, all reported to be 28 years old, were not injured.
Police said the driver showed no signs of impairment, and no charges had been announced at the time of the initial report.
The accident remains under investigation.
