Authorities said Laureys and his friend went fishing, and after two hours they walked their bikes back and a vehicle traveling 40 mph struck Laureys from behind.

Crystal Lake, IL. – The McHenry County Coroners’ Office has identified Nick Laureys, 15, as the teen boy killed in a bicycle accident on Wednesday night in Crystal Lake, Illinois.
The deadly crash occurred at about 7:30 p.m. at Terra Cotta Road and Deering Oaks Lane.
Authorities said Laureys and his friend went fishing, and after two hours they walked their bikes back and a vehicle traveling 40 mph struck Laureys from behind.
Nick died in the crash. Autopsy revealed he died from blunt force injuries.
No additional information concerning this crash was provided.
An investigation is underway.
