Authorities said two 16 year olds were seriously injured following an ATV accident Wednesday evening on private property near Morris.
Morris, IL.- Two teenagers were seriously injured following an ATV accident Wednesday evening near Morris, according to the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office.
The accident occurred at approximately 7 p.m. on July 29 in the 1600 block of East Pine Bluff Road.
Investigators said a 51 year old man was driving a lifted Chevrolet Tahoe eastbound on a trail across his property when a Polaris ATV entered from another trail after coming over a hill.
The driver of the Tahoe told deputies he attempted to stop but was unable to avoid the collision.
Authorities found the Tahoe resting on top of the blue Polaris ATV, which had become lodged beneath the passenger side of the vehicle.
The two teenagers riding the ATV, a 16 year old boy and a 16 year old girl, suffered serious injuries.
One teenager was transported to Morris Hospital, while the other was taken to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet.
The driver of the Tahoe was not injured.
The accident remains under investigation.
