Misty Linski Killed, 4 Injured in Car Accident on County Road 900 North in Basco

Officials said Linski was driving a 2015 Honda SUV eastbound on County Road 900 North when the SUV crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a westbound car.

Basco, IL.- Misty L. Linski of Basco was killed and four others hurt following a deadly car accident on Wednesday morning in Basco, according to the Hancock County Sheriff’s Department.

The accident happened at around 9:50 a.m. June 11, at the County Road 900 North and County Road 1900 East intersection.

Officials said Linski was driving a 2015 Honda SUV eastbound on County Road 900 North when the SUV crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a westbound car. 

Linski was rushed to Carthage Memorial Hospital where she died.

A male juvenile passenger in the Honda was taken to Blessing Hospital in Quincy and later taken to a hospital in Springfield for treatment of severe injuries sustained in the collision.

A second Honda passenger, Scott Webb of Basco, was taken to Blessing Hospital for treatment of moderate injuries.

The second vehicle driver, Donna Hurt of Basco, her passenger, a female juvenile from Basco, were taken to Blessing Hospital and later released.

None of the Honda’s occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the collision.

Both Hurt and the juvenile passenger were wearing their seatbelts.

No additional information regarding this crash was provided.
