Miami, FL.- Several vehicles were involved in an injury accident early Monday morning on Interstate 95 in Miami-Dade County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred before 6 a.m. on September 1 in the southbound lanes near Ives Dairy Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene after receiving reports of a collision involving multiple vehicles and injuries.

Traffic cameras showed several damaged vehicles and debris scattered across the highway following the accident.

Authorities have not released the number of people injured or additional information regarding the severity of their injuries.

The main southbound lanes of Interstate 95 were closed while emergency crews assisted those involved and worked to clear the accident scene.

The express lanes remained open and moving while the main lanes were shut down.

The closure caused significant traffic backups extending into Broward County, affecting drivers traveling south toward the Golden Glades Interchange.

Motorists were advised to consider Florida’s Turnpike or State Road 7 as alternate routes.
