3 Hurt in Hit-and-Run Accident near NW 79th Street and NW 6th Court in Miami

Authorities said three people were injured after a driver struck three vehicles and fled the scene on foot Thursday morning in Miami.

Miami, FL.- Three people were injured following a hit and run accident Thursday morning in Miami, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

The accident occurred shortly before 8:30 a.m. on August 13 near NW 79th Street and NW 6th Court.

Authorities said an adult man was driving a vehicle when he struck three other vehicles in the area. The man then left his vehicle behind and fled the scene on foot.

Two women and one man who were inside the other vehicles were transported to a local hospital for treatment. All three were reported to be in stable condition.

The identity of the driver who fled the scene has not been released.

NW 79th Street was closed in both directions between NW 5th Avenue and NW 7th Avenue while emergency crews responded and authorities investigated the accident.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area while the roadway remained closed.

Authorities continue searching for the driver as investigators work to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident.
